Interest in a Bariatric Cyclists team for RAAM next year?

Any interest? I'm looking into sponsorship for an 8 person team for RAAM next year. If I can get the sponsorship, I'll need 7 more riders. I'm also considering a 4 or 6 person, but 8 person bow would hold the miles down to 76 miles a day per rider for a 5 day scorchingly fast finish! Team Type I won the team cat this year and they were all type I insulin dependent diabetics and at least one rider was in his 60's! Email me or contact me on my blogs, either way if anybody is interested in showing the world what post bariatric folk are capable of and competing in one of the toughest races on the planet!

ROFL!  Tom, I hear those damn crickets too!   Hey, I think this sounds likea fantastice idea.  How cool would that be to show the world what we can do wiht our new found health!  More important to show ourselves!  Details, more details!  I would certainly be game.  Maybe Steve could help crew?   I don't think he would qualify for WLS :)

Anything I could do to help promote the idea?

Just getting the ball rolling, but as I see it, we'll need crew as well as a couple normal G.I tract riders to act as a control group. I'll definately keep in touch on this and yes, I think you would make a spectacular candidate for the team! I'm in process of gatting a grant submission together to present to the American Society for Bariatric Surgery as well as NIH and HHS from Uncle Fed!Steve could definately help crew, or possibly be one of the control group riders. I'll have top organize this as an experiment to get federal funding, and I sincerely hope to get this funded! Wish me luck!!!!!Travel
