Big Smile [:D] Post Surgical Ride Record distances!

Tom had a great suggestion for those of you that are post-WLS, namely to create a sticky post for you to record your personal record distances post surgery. So - Post your longest ride distances to this thread!

    Who wants to start?

MIne isn't as far as Tom's but he is further out from surgery than I am :)

So far 40 miles is my furtherst ride and well, it wasn't smooth but I made it.  I wonder if I can make that century yet this year?

    Hi "E"!

Welcome to Bike Naked!  WOW, that is fantastic! 128 miles!  I am 7 weeks out and today did (with Cheeseflavor) 51.7 miles.  I'll take it Wink

Congrats on being "lighter" now.  Feels good, don't it?

    Hugs!

Re: Post Surgical Ride Record distances!

I'm  20 months post, surgery was a year ago January , down over 200lbs started at 410. I did not really start riding a lot till late last fall. Now I'm an addict, doing a 100+ miles a week. That 128 started out as a metric and got way out of hand after a wrong turn by a couple of buddies and myself.

I ride all over the metro and do a few TCBC rides, you may have seen me around.  I was downtown Mpls today playing tour guide, with my sister inlaw (who is scheduled for her Ruan-Y  a week from tuesday) shooting some pictures for the '07 Mpls Almanac, on bike of course!

I'll see what I can do about pictures!  I was pretty camera shy till recently not nearly as much now. We were on the plaza at teh dome today before the and i was thinking a year ago you could'nt have paid me enough to be standing in this crowd wearing Lycra shorts!Embarrassed

But I'm sure I can dig something up.  Smile

Ironically, that's how my first century ride AND the 126 miler happened this year! Rides that just got out of hand and ran long! They just felt so good though in my case!
I tried to ost photo's of my before and after but it apparenmtly requires admin permissions?

Sorry guys, I didn't have the "local attach" or "remote attach" permissions set for registered users, which is needed for uploading or posting links to images in the forums. My bad!

    It's enabled now.

    Steve

Emil, I can't tell from the avatar (image is too small) where that is, but I'm dying to see a bigger pic :)
